8/9 Birthday

Email from the RAR Association

TO ALL MEMBERS, FAMILY AND FRIENDS,

In general although we promote all battalions events, this particular email is significant for a couple of reasons:

 a. The Bn is celebrating it’s 39th birthday,

b. At the conclusion of the week of celebrations there is to be a wake at the rams retreat, this is the last time the boozer will be officially used in this capacity by the bn before moving into the  all singing and dancing stage one of the new lines, and

c. Despite all the hype once the RAR has finished it’s commitments to Afghan they will feel the same effects as we did post SVN, this is a great opportunity to come along and have a coldie and mingle with the diggers and share those experiences too explain how we operated to overcame the issues in the training programme,  no ammo, no funds and more sport then the QLD state of origin

 Therefore as the original 89ers came from 8 & 9 RAR with a long line of reos from 4 RAR, followed by the re-raising with officers and soldiers from 1,2,3 & 6 RAR, I thought it would be helpful to give this info the widest possible spread using the shot gun method just blast it out there
