Vale ‘Hookey’ Hughes

Received the sad news from numerous sources that Anthony John (Hookey) Hughes died in Perth yesterday (8th Aug)

No details on the funeral yet but expect it to be in Perth.  Hookey’s wife Pam has already passed away but there is a daughter.

I met Hookey at the Whitford Tavern, Perth just a couple of months ago.  He was glad to see someone from Recce Pl and we had a good chat about old days and current problems.  He had throat cancer and had trouble being heard but he was in good spirits and enjoying having just a couple of beers.  He told me to give his regards to all the guys he knew.
