It is with sad news I would like to pass on Jeff Thomas as listed above has passed away this past Sunday morning surrounded by family in Greenslopes hospital, Brisbane.
Jeff regimental service details listed below. In short after Basic and Corps training Jeff arrived at 6RAR (C COY) as a reinforcement from Ingleburn to commence Operation Bribie. He was also at the Battle of Suoi Chau Pha on the 6 August 1967 with 2Pl – ACOY ,7RAR which was decisive battle and victory for 7RAR and the current name of 4 Regiment lines in Lavarack Barracks. He completed a 12 month tour of Vietnam as listed below in the attachment.
Jeff volunteered for Vietnam and was a regular soldier medically discharged after a bad car accident in 1969 whilst posted to Battle Wing Canungra.
His funeral details are Monday 28 October – Hemmant Cemetery in Brisbane – 12 PM. The POC for the family is Renee Thomas – 0411 897 0454. (Returned from Active Service Badge to be worn only)
Could his passing and funeral details be passed on accordingly to the relevant associations and members as directed to me by his family.
